Connecting Google Drive

Step 1: Go to Integrations

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations
  2. Find the Google Drive card
  3. Click Connect Google Drive

Step 2: Authorize Access

  1. Sign in to your Google account
  2. Review the permissions:
    • View files: Read files from your Drive
    • View metadata: Get file information (name, size, type)
  3. Click Allow

Step 3: Confirmation

Once connected, you'll see:

  • Your Google account email
  • Connection status
  • Token expiration date

Importing Creatives from Google Drive

Method 1: Single File Import

Import a single image or video:

  1. Go to Creatives
  2. Click Upload → Google Drive tab
  3. Open the file in Google Drive
  4. Click Share → Copy link
  5. Paste the link in Lix.so
  6. Click Import

Supported Formats:

  • Images: JPG, PNG
  • Videos: MP4, MOV, GIF

Import all compatible files from a folder at once:

  1. Go to Creatives → Upload → Google Drive tab
  2. Open the folder in Google Drive
  3. Click Share → Copy link
  4. Paste the link in Lix.so
  5. Preview shows all compatible files
  6. Click Import All

Example:

Drive Folder: "Q1 2024 Creatives"

Best Practices

Organizing Drive Folders

Create a clear structure:

Naming Files

Use descriptive names:

File Sizes

Keep files optimized:

  • Images: Max 30MB (recommended: 2-5MB)
  • Videos: Max 30MB (recommended: 10-20MB)

Batch Creation Workflow with Drive

  1. Organize in Drive

    • Create a folder for each campaign or project
    • Upload all creatives to the folder
    • Share folder link with team

  2. Import to Lix.so

    • Paste Drive folder link
    • Preview and select files
    • Import all at once

  3. Create Campaigns

    • Go to Batch Create
    • Select imported creatives
    • Configure and launch

Team Workflow

For agencies or teams:

  1. Designer: Uploads creatives to shared Drive folder
  2. Media Buyer: Imports from Drive to Lix.so
  3. Manager: Reviews and launches campaigns

Auto-Import Feature

Set up automations to automatically create campaigns when new files are added to a Drive folder:

Planned Features:

  • Monitor a Drive folder
  • Auto-import new files
  • Auto-create campaigns using a template
  • Schedule checks (every 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 minutes)

Example Use Case:

1. Designer adds 10 new product images to Drive folder
2. Lix.so detects new files after 10 minutes
3. Automatically imports creatives
4. Creates campaign using saved template
5. You just review and launch!

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

Problem: Can't connect Google Drive

Solutions:

  1. Check your Google account has Drive enabled
  2. Clear browser cache and try again
  3. Try in an incognito/private window
  4. Make sure you're authorizing with the correct account

Import Errors

Problem: "Cannot access file"

Solutions:

  1. Make sure the file/folder link is set to "Anyone with the link"
  2. Check the file is not in Trash
  3. Verify the file format is supported
  4. Try copying the file to a new folder

Problem: "File too large"

Solutions:

  1. Compress images (use tools like TinyPNG)
  2. Reduce video resolution or length
  3. Split large folders into smaller batches

Token Expiration

Problem: "Google Drive token expired"

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Click Reconnect next to Google Drive
  3. Re-authorize access

Security & Privacy

What Lix.so Can Access

  • ✅ Files you explicitly share via link
  • ✅ File metadata (name, size, type)
  • ❌ Your entire Drive (only what you share)
  • ❌ Edit or delete files

How Files Are Handled

  1. Lix.so reads the file from Drive
  2. Uploads it to Facebook Ads (if used in campaign)
  3. Stores metadata in Lix.so database
  4. Original file remains in your Drive

Disconnecting

To disconnect Google Drive:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Click Disconnect next to Google Drive
  3. Confirm disconnection
  4. Revoke access in your Google Account settings (optional)

FAQ

Q: Do I need Google Drive to use Lix.so? A: No, Google Drive is optional. You can upload files directly from your computer.

Q: Can I import from Shared Drives (Google Workspace)? A: Yes, as long as you have access to the shared drive and files.

Q: What happens if I delete a file from Drive after importing? A: Once imported, the file is stored independently in Lix.so. Deleting from Drive doesn't affect it.

Q: Can I import from Dropbox or OneDrive? A: Not yet. Currently only Google Drive is supported. Other integrations may come later.

Q: Is there a limit on imports? A: You can import up to 50 files per batch upload session.
